Everything seems to come together for a really effective atmosphere in this - tinting, hatching, light/dark contasts, converging lines and all. Is he from any particular place and time?

Johnny Norms, no. I just drew a typical man-at-arms. Chainmail, etc. Not very different from the Normans and Saxons at the Battle of Hastings. Essentially, an early 'knight'.
This one is one of my favorites thus far.

ReplyDeleteLove the forground figure and the sloped angle of the drawing ... it makes the figure seem oppressed and sets up a line of tension. Cool!

I'm a Norman, but I don't know if I'm descended from the Normans or no. Did early knights get plenty of sleep!
