A nice evening

I had the longest drive of my life yesterday. I had driven almost two hours, accompanied by dear Sweetie and her little bear. It was a slow and enjoyable drive, amidst the streets filled with vehicles weaving in and out, each attempting in a futile attempt to forge ahead somehow.

It was a nice weekend with Sweetie, though the food wasn't good, it was way below par for a restaurant in Restaurant Week. However, we had fun. We also watched '12 Years a Slave' before that.

The walk by Marina Bay and the lights was lovely.

Pet Shop Boys - Love etc.

Driving

More than 80 minutes of driving yesterday, much of which were at 80 to 90 km/h. I am exhausted. Heheh.

I miss my Sweetie. However, I will be seeing her again tomorrow. Yay!

Business publications

My ranking of the business publications that I read from time to time.

1. Financial Times
2. Wall Street Journal
3. Bloomberg Markets
4. Bloomberg Businessweek
5. Fortune
6. Forbes
7. Business Times
8. The Edge
9. Smart Investor

and a couple more.

I like the quality of the writing in the Financial Times and Wall Street Journal. I enjoy the hard-hitting investigative journalism in Bloomberg Markets. I like the coverage of the business world in Businessweek and Fortune.

I was a subscriber of Forbes for a number of years but I can't say that I find the quality of the writing to be convincing, likewise the topics covered seem somewhat random.

Kallang Theatre

I have always been intrigued by the form of Kallang Theatre. In its heydays, Kallang Theatre was the main performing venue in Singapore, replacing the Singapore National Theatre after its demolition in 1986. I had visited the National Theatre when I was a child once or twice. Apparently, the Kallang theatre was once the biggest cinema in Singapore when it was built in the seventies.

One day, I shall attempt to render the building in paint or ink.
