Irritant from Prudential

Caller: 'Hello, this is XXXXXX calling from Prudential. We have a special plan and...' Me: "Prudential?' Caller: 'Yes, I am calling from Prudential and we are sending our business associates into your area tomorrow and they will be coming down to explain our insurance plans..." Me: "They are not welcome." Caller: "Er.." Me: "Goodbye."

What makes these overbearing callers think that they are welcome? It is not merely Prudential, AIA, First Financial, AXA and others also make these intrusive and aggressive calls at all hours.

Haha, yesterday...

Caller: Hi I would like to conduct a survey regarding the use of credit cards...

Me: I don't have one.

Caller: Errr... oh. Goodbye!

Wow ... you are certainly one tough customer to call!

What sad life to be a telemarketer in Singapore. To be frank, these people are just paid to do a job. They follow scripts and punch in numbers to get their paid. I think we should all collectively write to big corporations such as Prudential instead. These are the sources. In parallel, the policy makers.

Do they have a "do not call list" there. All you have to do is say put me on your do not call list and they can't pester you for a year. If they do you can report them and they get a fine.
