The night before

This is another of my favourite Hooverphonic song, 'The Night before'.

Diablo 3 auctions

I tried selling on the Diablo 3 auction system, no sales. It doesn't help that I started on a Monday evening. I shall have to try that this weekend and see what happens. Perhaps, there would be buyers.

I have also tried buying after Wilson gave me 200,000 gold. I spent 100,000 on a tab for more space for items.

Sacred

An appropriate song for our times. Depeche Mode's 'Sacred'.
What exciting times we live in. The news is full of the trial.

Rendering the obese

I saw a photo of an obscenely obese fellow in an article. The fat guy in this photo gives an idea of how to render a new troll. So grossly obese. I usually have this one obese art director, Jabba the Hutt (okay, not the real name), in mind when I render trolls. Now I got this new photo. The thing about grossly obese folks is that it is hard for one who is not obese to conceive how they can be with no necks, the proportions and so forth.

Diablo 3 idiot

At Wilson's shop, Epic Gear, the other day, a guy offered to share the purchase of a Diablo 3 limited edition with me since I wanted the art book. He said that we could buy together and split the cost. He had wanted the wings. I said sure. I will chip in 20 bucks for the art book, you go buy. He must have thought I was naive. What an idiot.

Pieces in a Modern Style

I had waited over a decade to hear this William Orbit CD. When I finally did a few years ago, it was only $4.95 at the shop.

Strange Cargo III

I remember buying William Orbit's 'Strange Cargo III' a few years. I had waited almost fifteen years before buying it. I had eyed it for a long time but was never really in a hurry. I had wanted to listen to it then and now.

Evil Nightbreeze

Evil Nightbreeze from DuneMUD is in Singapore! WOO!

Photocopier sales idiot

This is Ms Retard calling for Canon Singapore, 'What copier machine are you using?' *

Me: 'We've got one already, we are not interested in yours.'

Ms Retard: 'How long have you had it?'

Me: 'We are not interested.'

Ms Retard finally gave up.

*She is obviously not from Canon Singapore but just one of the many companies selling Canon products. They almost always start with a survey like this.

Small-minded

I am not involved. I had only observed that little fracas which happened some weeks back.

I had expected better from him. I did not expect him to dismiss and shut the other fellow up for having a differing point of view. The other fellow was never an intellectual giant of any sort but was only expressing what he thought was right.

I expected him to be a big person given his age and his position. I had expected him to be generous. Of course, that expectation reeked of idealism. I know that I could be idealistic and had expected better from people. Anyway, wisdom and age do not really correlate.

It is disappointing to see him being so mall-minded.

The last drawing session on Sunday

The last drawing session with Kun Rong on Sunday before he left for good. Here we were at the Starbucks at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. We were originally at the Spinelli's at Novena Square (Velocity).

We actually met for him to rip some music CDs.

Battlefield 3 and M67 hand grenades

Last night, I encountered either very good players or hackers, most probably the latter since some were later banned for using aimbots.

I managed to persist in a losing team and through lobbing grenades, managed 52 kills, of which 38 were grenade kills. Grenades were great as they could be thrown, away from line of sight, ie gunfire and this had, of course, saved me from aimbots used by hackers.

Standing with about four or five grenade throwing people in a narrow corridor, I was able to rack up a great amount of kills safely.

Battlefield 3: Close Quarters

I never did have the manual dexterity, skill and reflexes for some games even when I was a child. RTS games are okay for me though. Now, at this age, I am slower than before.

I was playing Battlefield 3: Close Quarters, a FPS game, last night for the first time. It was brutal. I was slaughtered. The closed terrain was actually very open in that in each room in the Close Quarter maps, there were many means of entering it. It is very hard to secure a position or hide somewhere and snipe with your back to the wall.

The maps were a flurry of movement throughout, gorgeous level designs and all.

I find that I would have to learn the map layout to have a chance at all. In the old Metro map, I am now fairly proficient in it and would know where to hide and shoot to stand a chance.
