Awashed in blood

Bound by a fanatical fetish for secrecy, Apple had created a certain culture which the subcontractors were probably abiding. Imagine the tremendous pressures in these plants. Nine worker deaths so far. I hope all the Macheads/iphoneheads are happy with their little shiny gadgets.

Good article links. Sigh poor things being driven to suicide. I worked with a company that had an assistant manager who just hung himself one day, HR told me he was a high achiever

What!?! He hanged himself? The pressure must have been tremendous.

Now, you get Jobs on TV defending their business practices with words like:

"You go in this place and it's a factory but, my gosh, they've got restaurants and movie theatres and hospitals and swimming pools"

Steve Jobs
Apple CEO

Poor things. Their salaries?

"The firm had previously said that it would offer a 20% pay increase to its Chinese workers, who earn 900 yuan (£90) per month at entry-level."

That's a pittance for the world second largest company in terms of capitalisation.
