The Machinist

A clever psychological drama with symbols throughout. The books. The paths taken. The choices.

Loners may find a lot to identify with. Not the paranoia but the existence.

Recommended.

I haven’t seen it yet. I picked it up at the rental place for a look. It just seemed like kind of a downer from the DVD box discription. I'm sure I will check it out sooner or later. I saw a review of it on "Ebert and that other guy". The shop he worked in looked very dingy and dark. I spent a little time in a shop like that. Very low tech, dirty and no A.C. Thankfully, now I work in a state of art facility with glorious air conditioning.

It is a psychological drama. It may not be everyone's cup of tea. So, I am hesistant to say that it will have universal appeal.
