I went for a run earlier in the evening. 9:23. Heh. Good timing. I continued afterwards. I should be aiming for longer distances instead of these little brisk runs.

Tim, you are simply amazing! That's 8 kilometres! And you do it daily!

Not bad for an ol' man! Pace is slower than when I was younger. My fastest mile was 7:21, average is about 8:40 over 5 miles. When I was in my 20's, I could crank out a 6:15 mile. Sometimes if I'm in the zone and I've got the right tunes in the Ipod, I'll go 6 or 7. I was up in Denver last week, and let me tell you: IT IS HARD RUNNING AT THAT ALTITUDE! 5300 ft. When I got back home (600 ft above sea level)I shaved 7 minutes off my five mile time! Alas, it was short lived. A few days later and I'm back to normal.

I encourage you to build up to at least 5K daily. The runners high does not even kick in until mile 3 or 4 for me. If I run at all I'm doing at least a half hour, or it's not worth breaking a sweat and taking a shower.

I will be running along the Atlantic later today in Myrtle Beach, S. Carolina. Beautiful white sand...
