Yeah! I almost picked this up in NYC but opted for a hard-to-find Severed Heads release (absolutely no regrets there). Still, this is on my list. Anything new coming out from these guys? Anyhow, Cocteau Twins too--I've gotta check that out!
I will be seeing them this September. I looked for this CD at Virgin, but didn't find one! Perhaps all sold out. By the way, have you heard of the German band DAF? They were doing this kind of minimilist kind of music a long time before Nitzer Ebb.
Steve, Severed Heads! I haven't heard that in years. I think I have a Severed Heads CD somewhere. I know very little about them. Perhaps, Steve, if you could tell me something about them? Have you got a favourite track, CD or something?
One more thing, you don't need this 4CD retrospective of the Cocteau Twins. The Cocteau Twins were, to me, an albums band despite releasing some gorgeous CD singles with interesting B-sides. This 4-CD retrospective collects all the single releases and their B-sides. You could probably do with the single CD best of disc that was released a few years back.
The Cocteau Twins stopped releasing material in 1996 anyway though Robin Guthrie is still active.
V, DAF! Yeah, it was extremely difficult tracking down DAF releases on vinyl in the eighties. Now that there are re-issues on CD, well... I have one CD from them. It's alright. Like you said, DAF preceded them by quite a while.
