A22, Infantry Tank Mk IV, Churchill

This strange unfamiliar Churchill tank is the Churchill I, the 1941 original production model with a 2-pounder gun and co-axial 7.92mm Besa machine gun on the turret and a 3-inch howitzer on the nose. This particular model appears to be missing the 2-pounder. A number of Churchill Is were used in the Dieppe raid in 1942.

That's excellent. Stay out!

Those two and a half years in there killed my mind. I didn't read a book or do much in that period. I slept every weekend. It was trying to say the least.

And some people have claimed that there were quite a number of racists in my unit. I can see why.

A friend who was a stay out personnel managed to earn enough credits during his two year and a half years in there. When he finally got out, he was able to go straight into the third year of a British university, albeit a rather mediocre one. This friend was capable anyhow and he didn't need the degree. He was more or less on top of his profession in IT in a few years.
