Awful

This new single from Eurythmics is the worst single I have ever heard from this duo. It's a filler for their latest greatest hits compilation.

It is on par with Madonna's 'Hung up' as the worst single of 2005.

Yeah, I can't get into recent Annie stuff. My love for Annie only extends to the first few Eurythmics albums. I especially loved the 1984 soundtrack. But somehow, they pretend it never happened.

Yes, I agree with your sentiments, their early albums were quite something. I thought '1984' was brilliant. 'Sex Crimes' and 'Doubleplusgood'! Excellent stuff. I hate it how some bands are 'ashamed' of their earlier material. That's why I like Human League and Erasure a lot, they don't pretend otherwise and they play their older material in concerts from what I have read.

For recent Eurythmics singles, I quite like 'I saved the world today' (yes, it feels pretentious), 'Don't Ask Me Why' (not that recent eh?) but I dislike 'Seventeen again'. I find some of their singles to be alright (a few greats) but albums too inconsistent.

I don't think much of her solo material except for that vampire song.

Funny, the one album we really love "1984" and it's not available to buy. I loved the song Julia.

Speaking of Human League, I saw that they do have a live DVD out. And you're right, they do some older material like "Mirror Man" and such.

I bought the DVD to Kraftwerk's concert Minimum-Maximum.

Some oldies are meant to stay as... oldies.

Bren, you have got a point. I do like one of Eurythmics' recent singles though. By the way, may I ask why you adopt the moniker of 'Bren'?

I reminds me of the Bren LMG of World War II vintage.

V, how is the Kraftwerk concert DVD? I am curious. I saw it at the store but I resisted. At least for now.

I haven't seen the Human League concert DVD yet. That would be something I would be very interested in.

'1984' is not available? I am amazed. I have it on vinyl but it is in storage. It's been about seventeen years since I last heard it.

I like the Kraftwerk DVD. When I saw them last in July, they really left a mark and really wanted to re-experiance so I knew I wanted to get this DVD. It's what you'd expect. 4 men standing still behind their instruments while behind them is a video screen full of the visuals. It's packaged pretty nicely though I don't know why they did it as a two DVD set. Anyway, a good buy for only $22.99.

As for 1984, it was available on CD a few years back, but now it isn't. I too have it on vinyl but like yours, it's stored away. Somehwere far away. :)

Yes, I heard that their concerts are fantastic. But I have wondered how four guys and their four robot mannequins can excite and work the crowd. Thus, I am curious.

You have been to their concert! WHOA!!! What can I say?

Any photos?

'1984'. I would imagine that it would be a deleted item. How many of these CDs can the record companies expect to sell anyhow...
