A Pain in the Butt

That is how I characterise the new Depeche Mode single, A Pain I'm used to'. I can't rip into an audio track and put it on a CD compilation. The copy protection does not allow that.

I guess that is the last CD single I will buy from Depeche Mode despite owning every CD single they have ever released.

When music companies choose to adopt such technical solutions to protect themselves against piracy, they will lose legitimate customers like myself.

I think audiophiles also dislike some of the copy protection technologies because they introduce artifacts into the audio stream.

I am not surprised. I have tried to rip the tracks as to put it in a CD compilation as with all the CD singles I have bought. Too bad, the ripped audio track comes out distorted with a lot of deliberate nose.

Evil bastards. To think that I have every Depeche Mode CD single and a lot of vinyl.

Nevertheless, I think I will still be able to rip it out.

you record it real time via a recorder in ur pc, then you use a software to rip it back to mp3 with your desired sound quality to reduce the big file size when you first recorded.

Thanks Ari. That is the method I used previously. It requires that one sit through the track. Well, let me see what I can do. I suspect that other players may have problems playing it.

Alicia, the 'sharing' and 'selling' community in Johor used to be the haunt of quite a few of my friends. Heheheheh.
