The M4A1 Sherman was had a cast hull and turret, differing from the other variants with a welded hull. Armed with a 75 or 76mm gun, large numbers of these tanks were instrumental in the destruction of the German armies in the Desert War and Western Europe. A number was also supplied via Lend Lease to the Soviet Union, the UK, Canada and more.
