Quote from Richard Dawkins
"Yet if you look at the language we employ, it is no more strong or intemperate than anybody would use if criticizing a political or economic point of view: no stronger or more intemperate than any theatre critic, art critic or book critic when writing a negative review. Our language sounds strong and intemperate only because of the same weird convention I have already mentioned, that religious faith is uniquely privileged: above and beyond criticism."
Quote from Douglas Adams
"Book critics or theatre critics can be derisively negative and earn delighted praise for the trenchant wit of their review. A politician may attack an opponent scathingly across the floor of the House and earn plaudits for his robust pugnacity. But let a critic of religion employ a fraction of the same direct forthrightness, and polite society will purse its lips and shake its head: even secular polite society, and especially that part of secular society that loves to announce, "I'm an atheist, BUT . . .""

Steve Lawler and Jazzy Jeff.Firm favourites for the techy-tribal housey choons and hiphop/northen soul turntablists respectively. I hope Pippi will do a sunrise set. Cuban brothers are a load of fun. Upcoming "superstardjs" like Dekay. Good ole Zouk/Phuture/Velvet reliable residents.
But I haven't bought my tickets yet and probably won't!
=)
But I do pity Zouk management. Look at it this way, foreign DJs are featured more often than residents. How do you justify bringing in PvD or Sasha or Armin twice or more a year. Not forgetting MoS is also spending money to bring in the names... case in point, Tiesto was here at MoS this year already.
Saturation? Not yet (St James could spell t.r.o.u.b.l.e.) but it gets harder to host one off events with a legion of big name djs.
my $0.02 worth.
Jazzy Jeff! I am amazed that this partner of Will Smith is still that active. Heheheheh.
You mentioned a lot of names that I am unfamiliar with. Wow... It's been too long. I guess my interests have shifted too.
Why are you not going? Don't those DJs excite or interest you?
You got a point about bringing the big name DJs. However, if the local audiences and party-goers are willing to pay, well, why not right? We can have a real club culture then? A 24-hour Party People Republic?
