Apartment Blocks

I have spoken of the ugly Esplanade and Supreme Court buildings previously.

Of course, not every new building in Singapore is a monstrosity. This is one of those new slender apartment blocks in the city area. It is visually striking. I marvel at the daring and I wonder about the floor layout.

where is it? Would be interesting to see the floorplans. Do you remember the new pigeon hole apartments near clarke quay and the MRT station?

These are the apartments developed by Great Eastern Life(an insurance company no less!) and they are located at Newton.

For the apartments near Clarke Quay, may I know if you are referring to UE Square?

there are a number of these slender blocks (weird juxtaposition of words - oxymoron perhaps?) around the newton/novena area. It's amazing to look at them while on the CTE. Like you, I wonder how the layout is like.

You know, some of these are going at $800 psf to $1000 psf for freehold apartments. Pretty shocking really. Previously, only apartments in Cairnhill would fetch $1000 psf while those at Orchard Bourlevard would fetch $1200 psf and River Valley $800 psf. Scary, isn't it?

As for the layout, I have seen amazingly small shower cubicles and toilets! Narrow stairways. Crazy split-level apartments.
