Locomotive
A swift pencil sketch. Drawn while I blasted the God Module CD 'Artificial 2.0'.

God knows I've tried
But there's nothing left
In the world today
That's making sense in any way"

wow! nice drawing!
and i just posted a loc on Flickr..
i'll blog it too.. :)
Excellent illo. Cheers!
Lots of power here!
great ink drawing. i love trains. locomotives must be the strongest things out there.
i miss the cabooses though.
growing up, there always used to be a man in the caboose whose job it was to wave at children.
Fantastic drawing. I feel the movement of the pencil.
wow - that's a QUICK sketch? i'm impressed. nice take on the topic.
Kg, it's quick. There wasn't any attempt at carefully rendering lighting and textures, it's extremely rough. Most, if not a majority of the details from reference photos are not there. The sketch is very greatly simplified. The details are gorgeous in reality and I know a lot more could have been done.
Thank you Cheri.
Thanks Catnapping, there was actually a man there but I removed it to simplify the drawing. I will do an ink drawing of a locomotive one day.
Thanks Carla.
vfm4, I saw the image on your blog! And that image is stark, yet atmospheric in a certain way. A powerful image. Nice.
Thank you Holly.
I can picture your pencil swiftly powering along to the Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark as your strength develops into the surging Locomotive:) Well done !!!
thanks for this great idea, i wish i could have drawn but i only had a camera... :)

Wonderful use of pencil motion to creat a feeling of motion for the train. Terrific energic sketch!
Nice train drawing!
Great powerful locomotive! I reckon it'll look a lot more majestic if you added a trail of bellowing smoke. OMD makes me feel nostalgic ...
Excellent drawing!
Anonymous, Constanthing, there is an OMD single, 'Locomotion' that dates back to 1984. It goes like this:
"Across every nation
From the harbour to the station
It’s a form of inspiration
It’s a power to the state
They run down the railways
Sail across the seaways
Fly through the airways
But they can’t say no
To you"
It is indeed apt. Thanks.
Thank you Rose. Thanks Alina. Thanks Chris Brus. Thanks Jacquelynn for your kind comments. It is a simple sketch, simply done. It's kinda embarassing.
OMD single is apt indeed! You shouldn't be embarrassed!
Anonymous, the drawing was just soooo simple that's why...
I still love those old OMD songs. It is sad that they decided to call it a day sometime in 1996. http://www.omd.uk.com
