My World Cup Favourites

The teams I am rooting for?

1. Italy
2. Germany
3. France

The teams that I don't particularly care for?

1. Brazil
2. England

I am indifferent to the others. Realistically, this is Brazil's World Cup, they are unstoppable. And I suspect Argentina to be a close second. I think we'll see an Argentina-Brazil final where Brazil will triumph. Oh well. One can hope. Italy! Italy!

Realistically Argentina is the strongest as they got "Maradona" on their side. The hand of god might come in handy again. A fall in the penalty box will do nicely.

Brazil with fat boy Rinaldo may not be good enough. Their samba defence need more beefing up and not pussy footing around like when played Ghana to have a realistic chance of progressing to the next round.

Italy as usual strong in defence but those expensive "Gucci" boys got to play hard now and not to fluff around with their hairs.

Old men France might have to pull out all their experiences to compensate for their age as in the way they beat Spain. Also they got the Frankenstein boy on their side which might come in handy.

Germany, the dull machine, might need more creative flare or the audience will just fall asleep during the match ... but that might be their strongest tactic i.e. by way of dullness they bore their opponents to give up.

England will be the true dark horse in this world cup if their can defence hold up. They might beat Portugal but they need their idiot no brainer defender Rio Ferdinand to remember to put on his brain. Rude boy Rooney got to keep cool and Nancy boy Beckham got to make sure he got the right hairdo. Gerrad too need to stay focus with his long shot. Oh ya ... forget those crappy long pass.

Portugal the angry boys got two of their key players sent off in their last match and their cocky Brazillian coach might be in for a ride this time if the English can remember how to play. All the English boys got to do is to wind the Portuguese up to bring out their temper (Portuguese that is) and they can walk away with the match. Figo the pretty headbutting boy should be the easiest to wind up.

Oh forgot to mention I would like England to win because they are the underdog ... but their chance is slim.

Anonymous, I completely agree that Argentina is the strongest. The defence is extremely well-organised and positioned. Their technical skills were superior to the Germans. And they had midfield domination. Their attacks were far more penetrative than the German impotent attack. I can't imagine how they lost eventually.

Fat Boy still possesses that amazing burst of acceleration that seems to have deserted Owen. Yes, your observation regarding their defence in the Ghana game is definitely spot-on. However, they have depth in their squad. It's hard to see them falter though. They don't need attractive football to progress.

The Italian team appears to have shaved off their flowing manes and locks. Look at the former Italian team and Argentinian team. Flowing long manes. Another team that is preoccupied with their hair is definitely the Japanese team. It was fascinating to spot their hair.

France do have a good record against Brazil. However, history is history, right? The old French teams that beat the old Brazilian teams are gone. This French team is currently a team with some of the 98 winners while the Brazilian team has mostly new players except the choking fatso of 98.

Klinnsman is quite something. He did invigorate this German team. An attractive attacking team? Amazing.

England? The less said the better right? Maybe, like you have envisioned, the diving Portuguese may simply get winded up and lose everything. Their temperament is suspect.

Well, Anonymous, the bookies have England as the number 2 rated team. Somewhat astounding.

Underdogs? Against Brazil, yeah.

I do want them to beat Portugal though.

Temper will flare between the England Vs Portugal.

I just hope pretty boy Figo is to go out first and not rude boy Rooney.

If England can beat Portugal ... errmmm ... there is a possibility that might be in the final after all they are the weakest in the last eight.

It's always good to be underdog but they might face the Cucci boys if they want to go all the way.

You're right. We will see an explosive match! It will be awesome. Like you, I would prefer to see Figo go off.

I think Rooney may be a lot more controlled now? I hope so anyway. He's possibly got the talent to change a match.

Where's Totti's long flowing mane? He snipped it off! Amazing!

Holding back temper is not Rooney's strong point if he get frustrated to be frank. I wouldn't count on him too much.

As for Totti's long flowing mane I think he knew he would look a bit girly if he kept it. As you know "totty", in English slang, means looking at women as sexual item. So he might just attract the wrong sort i.e. men. LOL!

You are right not to count on him. He did get himself sent off. He was pretty ineffectual throughout the World Cup. He's overrated and badly employed.

Hahahah. Totti did look girly with his locks!
