YESYESYES!

In case I forget to celebrate, South Korea, the crap team is out! Yeah! I saw them play and it was ugly and futile.

Finally!

As for Singaporeans bemoaning the fact that an Asian team is out, c'mon Pan-Asianism is just a silly invented notion. How much do Singaporeans share culturally with Koreans, let alone Iranians and Saudi Arabians? United Asia? You gotta be joking.

because we know that singapore will NEVER get into any cup except the Tiger cup. that's why we cheer for people who have the remotest resemblance to us.

i want new sketches!! :P

I actually am genuinely fond of South Korea as a team. It's not pan-asianism because I am still pretty meh about Japan.

I'm sorry to see them go.

AG, yeah, the 2010 vision was totally unrealistic. We don't have a footballing culture like in the sixties and seventies when we produced the likes of Fandi Ahmad. That era is over. It's a Playstation, XBox era now. Heheheh.

Well, the remotest resemblance? I don't know about that. I think maybe we have more in common with the English, or even the Americans than the Koreans (unless you are into K-Pop).

Hehehe. Drawing drawing! I'm trying to finish a castle and start on more ambitious pieces. I see that you have been busy with your sketches! Woooo!

Anthony, 'meh about Japan'? I don't understand. You wanted to the Japanese to go out?

If I recall, my sisters were delighted that the Koeans went out too. They thought it was well-deserved.

I thought the Korean lack of skill and tactical vision were more telling. Previously, I didn't like their dirty, physical game incorporating many high kicks.

The Koreans were crap to be frank.

The could not pass properly and they only wasted my time to watch them.

Same with Japan.

Anonymous, I was wondering why the South Koreans were punting high balls? Their forte were their physical hard running game. They could run European teams to ground. In this World Cup, they were punting long balls and passing badly. It was an agony to watch.

Japan did organise well to defend, having ten men in the penalty area behind the ball often. They were able to frustrate the Australians for long periods of time until the eventual breakthrough by Cahill. Yes, you're right, they were offensively impotent.

Japan & Korea did got all their tactics wrong as noticed by you.

They could not play the proper passing game and were all over the place.

Having said that I think they have not improved since the last world cup.

But these two teams come a long way since the 80s when it was rather common to see them beaten by crappy M'sia team.
