Culpable Hand of the Media

The undiscerning media had published the madman's manifesto and had definitely played into his dead hands. Like the outrage caused by a bombing from an Islamist terrorist, one of Cho's aim was, doubtless, publicity. And the media had helpfully collaborated with publishing the photos, providing the QuickTime videos, spreading the messages. Was there no consideration for the consequences of their actions?

Was it just a ratings war for the media? Sheer irresponsibility?

This publicity surrounding Cho would one day lead to copycat massacres where one deranged killer tries to outdo the previous one in bodycounts...

And now, I think every mad glory seeker would emulate Cho.
