Sunkened Forest

21cm x 15cm. Faber-Castell Pigment Ink pens. 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.5. This is drawn on the spur of the moment last week. The scene is made up on the spot. This sketch utilises yet another style from the previous two or three relying on clear outlines without much embellishment. The detail is there.

I deliberately ignore light for this one to capture the spatial sense of the tree trunks in the forest. Posted by Picasa

Thanks!

I am staggered by your work. You have a talent there. Technique, composition, etc.

And there is depth in your work.

Twelve years ago, I knew this fourteen year girl who could draw fantasy elves and ninjas very very well. Her influences were clearly from that of certain SF/Fantasy illustrators (namely, Larry Elmore). Anyway, fast forward to 2006. Today, she is a designer who had work done for Tangs and various companies. I don't know if she still illustrates. That was her original first love.

Here's her website:

Her other work can be found here:

Anyway, I have seen the work of many talented Singaporeans over the years. And I know or used to know a number of designers and artists.
