Hilton Towers

Hilton Tower. Old flats of this architectural style were once common throughout Singapore. Examples can still can be found at River Valley Close, Taman Serasi, Leonie Hill, Napier Road (Going to be demolished), MacPherson and more. A lot of these were built in the sixties and early seventies. Today, they are but relics of Singapore during the early days of independence. Unmourned, forgotten and bland, these flats were probably early precursors of apartment living, like the now demolished Ngee Ann Building on Orchard Road, once the most prestigous apartment in Singapore. Posted by Picasa
