Orchard Point
Orchard Point was once a sleepy mall, housing a variety of shops and restaurants including Denny's, Cairnhill Steakhouse (after its shift), Leisurecraft (the first wargames/RPG store) and more. Completed in the mid-eighties (around 86-87), Orchard Point was never very successful, being usually deserted. Despite a series of extensive renovations and changes in marketing concept to an upmarket theme, the owners were never able to attract the crowds like the neighbouring Centrepoint or the old Specialists Centre.
Eventually, the building was sold to OG, a department store which for years had been housed in Chinatown, which then opened its second department store along Orchard Road. Today, Orchard Point is adorned with bright gaudy lights, a new layout and a whole new facade. And it seems a lot more lively than a decade ago after the OG makeover.
Will this new incarnation of Orchard Point be a turning point?

Love your pics of Singapore. Makes me homesick!
Of course it isn't sucessfull! It has a Denny's!
Tim, hahahaha. Yeah. I recall when I was in the US, Denny's was more of an old folks joint with a senior citizen's menu and so forth. Over here, the clueless seemed to treat it like the hottest thing since slice bread. It was hilarious.
Emperor Loh, hahahahah. Thanks, I will be putting a lot more up. Just for you!
