The Petaling Hut

We arrived at the Petaling Hut which was nothing more than a steel and concrete structure.

The Petaling Hut had become very familiar to us over the course of these hiking trips. It was our real jump-off point into the bush. The rainforest. We descended down a steep slope and soon traversed a small stream.

The search for the ruins of the Japanese Shinto shrine had started.

Given the stifling heat, it was best to be prepared. When one is seventeen, it is something else. When one is almost forty...

Gear? Hardly. Look at me. Jeans and T-shirt. And two bottles of water in my backpack.

Yes Ole' Wolvie. It will be an inspiration soon, when I find the time to draw again!
