My order with Amazon: The forever extension

Order Date: August 1, 2006 Order #: 104-9252594-2290354

Recipient: Chuang Shyue Chou
Items not yet shipped:

Delivery estimate: March 30, 2007 - April 10, 2007
1 of: The Art of War in Italy, 1494-1529.

Sold by: Amazon.com

Look at the order date and the delivery estimate. Hmm... When I placed the order, it was stated that stock was available. It would appear that the book is probably sold out and is out of print. Instead, Amazon continues listing it on the manifest, giving it a delivery estimate. Previously, in the same circumstance, Amazon would continue asking for extension after extension. Then, it would suddenly cancel after eight months or something. Simply terrible.

Amazon's service is pretty atrocious. My impression is that it has gotten worse over the last three years. Too bad that Amazon is just about the eight hundred pound gorilla on the block when it comes to variety.

I will search some specialist online bookstores now. Maybe, I will have better luck.

Just cancel the order since they haven't charge you. :)
