The 8x8 Panhard EBR (Engin Blinde de Reconnaissance) had its origins in a design dating before the Second World War. The EBR was only built after the Second World War with over 1200 vehicles manufactured from 1950. The EBR had a FL-11 oscillating turret with a 90mm gun while some had the older FL-10 turret with a 75mm gun as mounted on the AMX-13.
