While doing my reservist stint in the army, I recall when everyone, meaning several hundred of us, sat on the floor with our legs crossed in a cavernous hall and listened to an officer pontificate, I felt a sense of deja vu. The one funny thing that struck me was that it was not dissimilar to when we were school children in primary school, listening to the teacher sermonise on some state-approved bits of education.

Ian, I know you have always wanted to say that. How much longer is it for you? Will you be liable for reservist?

Well, yes, you are right. Motivation talk by CO, etc.

I really hope so. I am supposed to be on the list a year or two back. Taken out. Still, they have not done it. A few compatriots in the same boat have kept calling.

There is this guy who is 40 this year. He called me this morning to talk about it. They are calling him in too!
