Dinners

I'm usually quite a homely person and however this week, I had met up with Colin for dinner at Outback at Millennia's Walk on Wednesday, then Lam and Amelia at Hard Rock Cafe on Thursday. Quite unusual really.

I too prefer the indoors most of the time. But it's good to get out there sometimes when the company is good. Tomorrow, I may be going out and maybe take some photographs at the park. Maybe the skaters on the ice.

Side note: Someone had given me a $20 gift card to be used at Barnes & Noble. I went there and found both Ladytron CDs that I didn't have. They were both priced at $12.99 each. So I bought them. I only had to pay $8 extra for both. Charming!

Well, you would if you were living in Singapore. The weather can be extremely hot and humid. However, there has been a lot of rain. Storms really. Thunder, lightning, heavy downpours.

Indeed, it is great to get out when the company is good. I will go out to town today with a book, a sketchbook and some music on a player and while the afternoon away. Be lost in my thoughts. It's a nice weekend. Skaters on the ice? Sounds very exotic (well, to me at least... after all, I live in the topics). It must be quite something then? And I suppose the approaching winter is a period of moods? Atmospheric? Maybe?

The US and UK '604' has different covers. In addition, I saw a US re-issue of '604' with four extra tracks! Three live tracks performed in Sofia (Bulgaria) and one remix of 'Playgirl', my favourite single from '604'. Wow! Tempted to buy it.

Yeah I know about that. I lived in Arizona for a while and going out during the day - even during the night most of the year was quite a task.

Sounds like you have a good day planned.

There are two places in the city where you can skate on the ice. One is by Central Park and the other on Rockefeler Center. The one at Rock. Center is quite a scnece during this time of the year with the gold statue and the big Christmas tree in the background. I'll be taking some pics.

The two Ladytron CDs I got have all those extra tracks you mention. 604 has 20 tracks in all. I'll be importing to my player to listen to for today's journey out.

Arizona! Good heavens. It must be really hot. Do people do outdoor activities then? I mean can you go jog in the evenings when you were in Arizona? Does one get heatstroke or heat exhaustion easily out there?

No no, I usually don't plan weekends. I just out and stroll. No planning really. Heheh.

Yes, I have been to the Rockefeller Centre more than a decade ago. And I have also seen photos of the rink. It's in movies, magazines and books!

Journey out? Where are you heading to?

All 20 tracks? That's excellent. How are the 'live' tracks?

When I lived in Arizona, I used to take very long walks during the evening. I would just take my music and just go. Round & Round. couldn't really do that during the day, but most of the times, I had no choice as I didn't drive.

The good thing was that a lot of stuff was nearby (the mall, movies, supermarket).

As for my journey - It just meant for me to get out of my apartment and head for the subway and ride it. And then do some walking in the cold. :)

It was OK. I got to hear the entire 604 album which I liked very much. The live stuff sounded very interesting. I'll definately have to listen again to know for sure. But I did like at first listen.

I thought that distances are usually too great? I mean a lot of American cities that I have seen (and a few that I have lived in) are not cities that are friendly to people who walk. You do need a car to get around.

Walking in the cold! I love that when I was in England and the US.

The '604' album, yeah, it has strong analogue elements, not unlike Kraftwerk.

How is Colin? Brian? Willie? Gosh, last time I met was at the gaming place along Selegie Road? Uh oh, I cannot even remember the names of the shopping centers now... Paradiz Centre? Peace Centre?

Meanwhile, it's -14 degrees Celsius over in Chambana. Forecast is snow showers overnight, with the temperature *rising* to -4 in the morning.
