Sounds like my kind of band to check out.

It is not akin to Front 242. Maybe, a band like Spetznaz would be. I don't know. I have one single from Spetznaz so far.

Orange Sector, in my opinion, is more synthpop as they incorporated strong melodic structures, Front 242-style vocals (unprocessed and generally shouted). However, the themes like 'Yugoslavian Boys' are quite interesting. This German band also sings in English. I like Orange Sector but I can't speak for others. This album is a good compilation of past material.

Sounds good to me. I love melodic synthpop, especially from Germany. Think Alphaville. Though I confess, I haven't checked them out lately. I don't know what they sound like today.

HEY!!! I love melodic synthpop from Germany too. Alphaville is a personal favourite! I have also seen them twice, LIVE!

I also spotted Marian Gold at the restaurant at the Rasa Sentosa Hotel once. He was eating in the next table!

Alphaville! They have a lot of stuff. I got their 4-CD album, 'Crazy Show' a year or two ago. And also 'Dreamscapes', the 8-CD item. http://www.alphaville.de

Go look!

V, what other groups from Germany do you listen to?

I can tell you that I listen to a LOT of German synthpop and EBM bands too.

Hmm.. DAF comes to mind. I know one of the members recently passed away. I forget if Nitzer Ebb was from Germany or England.. But I liked them. Xmal Deutchland was pretty cool. Off course there's Funker Vogt. Nina Hagen is an old favorite though she's not synthpop or EBM. As well as Rammstein.

My head isn't as clear and I know I'm leaving some out. But you could maybe help me get re-aquainted with the synthpop of Germany - What do you like?

Also - So jealous that you got to eat next to the same table as Marian. Did you get to meet him? How was he close-up? I'll definatly check out their website and see what they're up to. And to find out exactly WHERE I can find their newer CDs.
