Illustrations Update

I have been rather lethargic and distracted these days, hence, the lack of postings of illustrations. Scanning can be quite a chore at times.

Anyhow, I have more or less recovered from my cold and will soon be scanning new stuff to put up.

Hi Chuang,

Hope you'll be feeling better soon. Are you a military modeller, seems you are interested in the AFV stuff.

Cheers,

Hi Vince,

Well, I'm not a modeller. I am just someone who reads a lot of history, from Byzantine history to warfare on the Eastern Front. I have read my Guderian, Manstein, Liddell Hart a decade or more ago.

I am an occasional wargamer. Beyond that, yeah, I dabble. I draw. Nothing like the fantastic stuff you have on your blog. Those are splendid work! I am staggered. Are you a staff artist for Concord Publications or some other professional journal?

Hi Shyue Chou,

Nice to have your feedback:-)

I did worked on a number of DML boxart and a Panther book for Concord but that was ages ago. Now I am working freelance for Trumpeter (which include some of the recent Russian KV series) and another NZ wargamming company.

I like figure sculpting and military modelling and this slowly evolved my interest in doing military art. Like you, I am also addicted to history stuff and my recent interest is the Japanese samurai armour and Polish Winged Hussar.

cheers,

vince

Hi Vince,

I have seen the Trumpter model kits around town. Wow! You draw for them!

New Zealander wargaming company? May I know which one that is? I am curious because I haven't heard of any NZ wargaming company. The ones that I know are:

GMT Games.
http://www.gmtgames.com

Decision Games http://www.decisiongames.com

Avalanche Press
http://www.avalanchepress.com

Multiman Publishing
http://www.multimanpublishing.com

OSG
http://www.napoleongames.com

Figure sculpting. Okay, I saw those on your site. Wow! Did you construct them yourself or are those model kits?

May I know how long you have been doing military art?

For Japanese samurai armour, I assume that you are speaking of the elaborate 16th century samurai armour?

The Polish winged Hussar, okay, I have seen those. European cavalry from the 16th century to the 19th century are fascinating. I have been interested in the Thirty Years War, the Seven Years War, and a few other periods. And I have been reading up on those.

In addition, I am pretty interested in the wars of the Renaissance. Hence, the reiters, organ guns and other strange things from that period.
