Dungeon Siege 2

I have missed a large number of interesting games through the years. 'Titan Quest' was extremely satisfying. I finished it in a week or so. It took almost 48 hours in total. Wow, it was quite a ride. Highly recommended.

Meanwhile, Colin had charged headlong into 'Titan Quest' and had completed about 33% in just one night. He made Egypt! He's crazy.

Now, I am embarking on the next game. 'Dungeon Siege 2'. I had missed the first one and the years had passed swiftly. Before I know it, there is a sequel.

After this, I may play 'Sacred' and 'Sacred: Underworld'. Woo!

Cool. DS2 is a pretty good game. You should get the expansion Broken World before starting the original game if you are planning on playing the expansion as well. You get more classes and stuff, and a better gameplay experience that way.

You can go here for mods and maps for the game.

Yes, Battlefield 2 was extremely engrossing. I was lost in it for a while too. How long did it take you to beat DS2?

Thanks Sol77. I will get the expansion. Thanks fo the recommendation. May I know how long it took you to complete it?

I played it of and on as a relief from the chaos of BF2. I think I beat the first round in 6 months. I did not play religiously. I finished with a high level combat mage assisted by a nature mage and two melee tanks.

Did you also play BF1942 and its expansions previously? I did and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

BF2 was a continuation of this for me. Organised chaos! Yeah! I can imagine. Six months. Thanks. That's a good guideline. I think BF2 lasted about 3-4 months for me. And that is a pretty long time. I tend to read more than play.

Battle mage! I'm looking at that now.

Chuang Shyue Chou, I actually haven't been able to finish it yet. I am setting up a new platform for our site and then there is school so not much time. But they say it will take around 10-15 hours. Here's a promising map to try out when you have finished it: http://www.uniquetrend.com/erthos/

Thanks man! I will definitely look it up.

I should be done with Sacred Underworld soon. I will start continue with DS2 soon enough.

Would you recommend DS1 and its expansion?

If you don't mind the lesser graphics and you have money to spare then yes. It is a bit different as there is no skill tree, only the four traditional skills, and the party AI is more customizable. There are also alot more mods and maps for it. Personally I like the sequel alot more though.
Try out the trial version first: http://www.microsoft.com/Games/dungeonsiege/8.asp

Ahh.. I will look into it then. It's only five bucks (American dollars) here for the game and its expansion. (Real stuff, not pirated stuff).

Does it take long to finish?

I think the original took 40-50 hours or so and the expansion maybe 20. There is an expansion to the expansion as well so you know that is free, and also an adventure made by GPG called Yesterhaven that is seperate from the base story, also free. It is a bit different and almost poetic. Highly recommended. Send me a mail on siegetheday (at) gmail.com when it is time if you want them.
